Electoral Commission Ghana Data Platform

This platform provides access to data sourced from the Electoral Commission of Ghana through APIs. Alternative formats are also provided as an option for download.
Data gathered and sourced from the Electoral Commission is analyzed and presented visually in a user friendly dashboard.

The platform offers all EC data in programmable and more user-friendly state (json). Other users can also download data in the interoperable csv format.
Instructions and examples to access and use the APIs have also been embedded.

Polling Station Mapping for Electoral Commission Ghana

Maps were developed for the Electoral Commission to facilitate easier distribution of materials for the 2020 elections held in Ghana.
These maps provide geographical information to help navigation through the 275 constituencies all over Ghana. Each constituency map displays polling stations situated with important information needed by stakeholders. Waterbodies, game reserves, forests and road networks were indicated to help with easy navigation and location.

GIS Mapping and Route Analysis

This project mandated BigData Ghana Ltd. to develop a GIS Mapping and Route Analysis in ART facilities in Western Region for the National AIDS Control Program (NACP) and was sponsored by the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL). The project provides ongoing technical support as follows.

  • Collect GPS coordinates for additional ART Facilities created in the Western region of Ghana that have yet to be mapped
  • Clean GPS coordinates, validate and update existing GIS map to include new ART sites
  • Create updated shapefiles from the collect GPS coordinates
  • Update sample referral maps with new ART facilities
  • Process shape files into web complaint format

Standardizing City-Level Data-Gathering (SCiLeD)

SCiLeD provides important insights into the intersections of data, urbanism, and sustainability across multiple social and political contexts, including contributing to understanding both informal settlements and the gaps in implementing UN Sustainable Development Goals in Africa.

This platform uses interactive map and charts to visualize the result of a survey conducted within the Chorkor and Old Fadama communities of Ghana. The survey comprises household information of residents and facilities available in these two communities.

The project was developed under the Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies of the University of Ghana.

Electricity Monitor Gh

This platform was developed for Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) to help monitor activities and performances of the energy sector. This platform tracks milestones and key deliverables in the sector and visualizes them for easy interpretations.
The platform will subsequently provide information to citizens on how to access information, report complaints and also provide feedback on the energy situations in their area.

Digital Mapping Verification

The purpose of the project was to conduct a field-based verification of satellite- generated map of Gushegu district in the Northern region to confirm and update eligible structures for spraying by digitally enumerating buildings including animal shelters according to defined eligibility criteria given, and produce digital maps to support the Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) exercise in the Gushegu district.

The project was developed in partnership with VectorLink for USAID.


This platform was developed for the Ministry of Sanitation to provide WASH data for all the urban dwellers and premises.

The current scope of the data on the platform is baseline data collection done for Residential, Hospitality, Educational Institutions, Markets, Lorry Parks for all MMDAs in the Greater Accra Region.
